Privacy policy.
How we collect, use and store your personal information. Last updated 14 August 2026.
Who this covers
Salt Maintenance is a trading name of TBTL Pty Ltd (ABN 14 701 347 622). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean that business. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you contact us through this site, by email or by phone, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address and phone number
- The address of the property you are asking about
- The type of property and the service you are interested in
- Anything else you choose to tell us in a message
If you become a client we also hold records relating to the work: property notes, care plans, visit reports, photographs of the garden, chemical application records and billing details.
We do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote or care plan
- To carry out and schedule the work, and to bill for it
- To keep the records Queensland law requires us to keep, including chemical application records
- To contact you about your property and the work we are doing on it
We will not use your details for marketing you did not ask for, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
Photographs
We photograph gardens as part of visit reporting and care planning. Those photographs are used for your records and ours. We may also use garden photographs to show our work publicly. Where a photograph could identify a property or a person, we ask before publishing it, and we do not publish client names or addresses.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where we need to:
- With the crews and contractors doing work at your property, limited to what they need to do the job
- With the software providers we use to run the business, including our website host, email provider and accounting system
- With a regulator or insurer where we are required to produce records
Some of those providers store data outside Australia. We choose providers that hold data in Australia where we reasonably can.
This website
Enquiry forms on this site are submitted to our website host, which stores the submission and emails it to us.
We use analytics and advertising tools to understand how the site is used. These may set cookies and collect information such as the pages you visit, roughly where you are, and how you reached us. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work are kept for a reasonable period and then deleted. Records relating to work carried out are kept for as long as we are required to keep them, which for chemical application records is at least the retention period set by Queensland law, and for financial records is at least seven years.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. That includes limiting who inside the business can see what, and using providers with their own security controls. No system is perfect, and we will tell you if a breach affects you in a way that requires it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email hello@saltmaintenance.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for asking.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first and we will try to sort it out. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
